Hollywood singer Taylor Swift gets a chance to extend her reign as the Academy of Country Music’s entertainer of the year. Shelton will join forces with Reba McEntire in hosting the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards from Las Vegas on April 1. Swift’s competing with four time winner Kenny Chesney and nominees Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton. Swift picked up her third consecutive nomination for entertainer of the year. She won for the first time last year. The country is also nominated for female vocalist for a fifth year and for video of the year for ‘Mean.’

Chesney received 9 academies of Country Music Awards.  The nominations were revealed Thursday, followed by Paisley’s four and Aldean’s six. Singer Swift is the most nominated female solo artist with three. Lady Antebellum leads in group nominations with five and Eli Young Band has three. The list of first time nominees as Aaron Lewis with two, Grace Potter with three and Thompson Square Theft earned single nominations. Aldean’s six awards nominations for entertainer of the year and male vocalist of the year. His “My Kinda Party” is up for album of the year, while “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” featuring Kelly Clarkson is nominated in the single record categories. Aldean’s “Tattoos On This Town” is competing for video of the year.

Hollywood’s a list donned their best black dresses and hit the Beverly Hilton on Saturday night. Brad Pitt and actress Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet of the 23rd annual Producers Guild Awards, yet another event in the month long marathon that is this awards show season. Celebrity Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ may not have made the Academy Awards’ foreign language film short list. The actress is still receiving accolades for the film. She was honored with the Stanley Kramer Award, recognizing filmmakers whose achievement or contribution illuminates provocative social issues in an accessible and elevating fashion on Saturday.Angelina donned a Michael Kors black double face stretch wool crepe column gown with lace sleeves and a thigh high split.

The dress is from 2012 collection. Jolie topped off her look with Ferragamo heels and jewels. She said ‘I hope is that our film helps people not forget the past. In the film, a love story set during the Bosnian War. I want people to see what these people have gone through and that they are able to tell their story through their bravery. Their story matters.’ On the red carpet before the event include Jolie, who posed with Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg, Alicia Keys, Viola Davis, Zachary Quinto, Jessica Chastain, Sofia Vergara, Judd Apatow, Evan Rachel Wood and Shailene Woodley. “The Artist” took the top honor Saturday night at the PGAs, giving it yet another boost in its run towards Oscar night.

The 23 year old singer Rihanna has been taking a well earned break after her Loud tour ended. The holiday is now over for the singer, who was seen jetting back into LAX earlier today. Singer arrived in more beautiful look as a black strapless maxi dress. Rihanna opted for minimal wake up and left her hair unstylish at the Los Angeles airport. She also showed off her figure in a series of tiny bikinis. Her low key appearance was a far cry from some of her outfits during her Hawaii holiday. The 23 year old didn’t seem to care that all eyes were on her as she carried an over sized Fendi shoulder bag for hand luggage.

She appeared makeup free with scruffy loose curls in her hair. She donned understated gold hoop earrings, neck chains and bracelets. Rihanna real name is Robyn Fenty. She was almost too relaxed as she struggled to keep her eyes open as she rested against a moving belt. The star has shown off an array of aesthetically pleasing outfits in the last week. The Armani model and singer left a little more to the imagination though when she donned a cut out hot pink dress with a green triangle bikini. Singer Rihanna is set to perform with Coldplay at this year’s Grammy Award.

Three time Grammy winner singer Etta James has died at age 73 from complications of leukaemia. Singer died at a hospital in Riverside, California east of Los Angeles said her manager and friend of some 30 years, Lupe De Leon. Mr De Leon said “She passed away this morning. She was with her husband and her sons,” James was diagnosed with leukaemia two years ago and she had been in failing health for a number of years. Singer also suffered from diabetes, kidney problems and dementia. She was hospitalized late in 2011 because she was struggling to breathe. The singer saw numerous ups and downs in her career with personal life.

She struggled with obesity and heroin addiction, ran a hot cheque scheme and had troubled relationships with men. The three times Grammy winner was a key figure in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll and her signature song, the 1961 ballad At Last, proved her mastery of the blues. She sang with a mixture of power and pain that led veteran musical producer Jerry Wexler to call her “the greatest of all modern blues singers “. Singer guitarist Bonnie Raitt wrote ‘Etta James is simply one of the best singers I’ve ever heard,’ in Rolling Stone magazine. James’ last album ‘The Dreamer’ was released in 2011. She spent the latter part of her life at home in California.

Celebrity Lydia Bright celebrated her 21st Birthday at Gilgamesh in Camden. The Essex gang jumped at the chance to dress up for the occasion. Star celebrated the landmark birthday last night with a party at Gilgamesh in Camden. The blonde TV star went all out for the event wearing a last minute dress due to her original ensemble being stuck at customs in New York. Lydia looked every inch the birthday girl in a strapless black and cream organza dress. The TV star also showed off a new shorter hairdo. She completed her look with her signature red lippy and falsies.

Lydia tweet ‘Picture me running down Oxford Street for a dress as my original one is stuck at customs in New York.’ Lauren attended the party in a navy blue wrap dress and nude heels. Lydia’s mother Debbie also made a big effort for the birthday party wearing an unusual black gown. She tweeted ‘Alcohol and Debbie don’t mix very well.’ Jessica’s mother Carol who showed off her figure in a low cut embellished dress. Nanny Pat wore a bright blue winter coat. Lucy Mecklenburgh kept warm in a red fur trimmed poncho which she wore over a black fitted dress.

The Golden Globes crowned a new galaxy of television stars on Sunday, honoring a slew of shows in their first season. Psychological thriller ‘Homeland,’ which premiered on cable channel Showtime in October. She won best TV drama series and best actress for Claire Danes in her role. The award was presented by Rob Lowe and Julianne Moore. Lowe introduced Andie MacDowell’s daughter Rainey Qualley to the stage, who appeared to only be there to herd everyone around and off the stage. They read out the list of nominees for the Best Mini Series gong which included Cinema Mildred Pierce, Verite , British drama The Hour, Too Big to Fail and Downton Abbey.

“Modern Family” retained its Golden Globe from last year. The ABC documentary beat off challenges from Fox’s “New Girl” and previous favorite “Glee” to win best TV comedy series for a second consecutive year. The best drama actor Jessica Lange was honored for her supporting role as a disturbed neighbor in the FX haunted house saga “American Horror Story.” Grammar told ‘It’s really flattering. We have taken note of the fact we got a lot of attention right out of the gate.’

Peter Dinklage plays a scheming dwarf in HBO’s freshman fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” won best supporting actor. Idris Elba was a new face on the winner’s podium for BBC America detective miniseries “Luther”. Matt LeBlanc won the Golden Globe for his long running role as the philandering Joey on “Friends.” LeBlanc was honored for playing a version of Joey in the TV industry satire “Episodes.” Laura Dern was a surprise best comedy actress winner for HBO’s little watched “Enlightened.’ Britain’s “Downton Abbey” and its tale of an aristocratic family and their servants in the 1930s was a popular winner of best TV miniseries.

A 23 year old beauty queen Wisconsin Laura from Kenosha won the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas. Laura Kaeppeler won the pageant Saturday night after strutting in a white bikini and black beaded evening gown, singing opera and answering a question about whether beauty queens should declare their politics by saying Miss America represents everyone. Laura Kaeppeler said ‘Miss America represents everyone so I think the message to political candidates is that they represent everyone. We need to be looking forward to what America needs and I think Miss America needs to represent all.’ Kaeppeler wins a $50,000 scholarship and gets the title for one year.

Her platform during the competition was supporting and mentoring children of incarcerated parents. Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson came in second and Miss New York Kaitlyn Monte placed third. The new Miss America will spend the next year touring the country to speak to different groups and raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska won Miss America last year at age 17 to become the pageant’s youngest winner ever. Teresa Scanlan said ‘You can always breathe a sigh of relief” once the live pageant begins.’ Pageant officials earlier announced the winners of preliminary competitions as Miss Hawaii Lauren Cheape, Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson and Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler for talent.

The 12th annual American Film Institute Awards show held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.  The event attended by some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Some of the finest film and television artists came together for the celebration. The most outstanding achievements were in film and television this year. The glam night saw the convergence of stunning fashionable clad in trendy red carpet outfits. Stars like Claire Danes, Jessica Chastain and actress Viola Davis opted for graphic black and white patterns. Some others actress Berenice Bejo and Wendi Deng opted for brighter shades and patterns.

Total 10 movies and 10 TV shows were honoured at the event. Film Historian Leonard Maltin a member of the AFI Jury for Motion Pictures recognized the film honour. Richard Frank, Chair of the AFI Jury for Television and an AFI Board of Trustees Vice Chair, acknowledged the small screen honoures. AFI Board of Trustees who attended were AFI Board of Directors Chairperson Bob Daly, Brad Grey, Marshall Herskovitz,  Jon Avnet, Chris Dodd, Tracey Edmonds, Jim Gianopulos , Ken Howard, Bryan Lourd, Barry Meyer, Amy Pascal, Rich Ross, Ron Meyer,  Tom Sherak, Anne Sweeney, Ed Zwick and David Rips.

There are many celebrities appeared at the People’s choice awards 2012. The 2012 People’s Choice Awards was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Singer Lady Gaga and pop star Katy Perry were absent from the event. Katy Perry got seven nominations as Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Song of the Year and Favorite Tour Headliner in music. The singer also awarded for Favorite Music Video. Lady Gaga and Katy most of the music winners didn’t come to the show to collect their awards on Wednesday night. Maroon and Demi Lovato accept their awards.

The song tress was given favorite pop artist prize and the group was honored with band. Lovato was presented the award by Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson after their performing. She praised fellow nominees as the people. she took her inspiration from and thanked her fans. It’s Adam Levine and James Valentine who came up to the stage to accept the award. “How I Met Your Mother” and “Supernatural” won big at the 38th Annual People’s Choice Awards 2012. The former led the pack of TV winner’s three awards from all three categories.
